Just over a year ago, the Faurby shipyard moved into new premises. Building in Middelfart. Now another relocation is on the cards. "Together with Lars Buchwald from Nordship Yachts, we have decided to merge the production of our yachts," says Faurby boss Thomas Dan Hougaard.

The official start date for the cooperation was 1 October. Since then, part of the Faurby workforce has been working in the Nordship shipyards. In future, they will build both boat types together with their colleagues from Nordship. "We have known each other for a long time, as Lars has laminated the hulls for Faurby in the past. We also both have the same demanding understanding of quality," says Hougaard. "Joint production helps both shipyards to save costs," continues the Faurby boss.

Although Faurby Yachts is relocating its headquarters to the Nordship site in Lunderskov, Denmark, the shipyards will remain two independent companies. The winter storage service in Middelfart is also to be continued and will also be used by Nordship in future.
