The boat manufacturer delivered its masterpiece with the 60-foot "Fleur de Mer". Visit to a master craftsman's workshop
The craft business on the lake has been around for 118 years. Where once wheelbarrows and horse-drawn carriages were made, today it is one of the top addresses for upmarket wooden boatbuilding. Wilhelm Wagner, who trained at Josef Martin's much more renowned shipyard in Radolfzell, became known throughout the country for his retro yacht "Fleur de Mer", a Nissen design with a modern underwater hull and lifting keel.
However, the shipyard generally produces smaller new builds and is involved in restorations. YACHT visited Wilhelm Wagner and portrays this remarkable company in the new shipyard series.
