The Faurby brand stands for elegant, fast yachts with high quality standards. Nordship contributes its experience in the construction of robust long-distance yachts with deck saloon. With the departure of Lars Buchwald as Managing Director of Nordship Yachts, Faurby Yachts will take over the business and the entire brand portfolio under the management of Thomas Hougaard. The current deck saloon yachts from Nordship (360 DS, 420 DS, 450 DS, 500 DS and 570 DS) will therefore be built and marketed under the Faurby brand name with immediate effect.
As the first model in the new series, the yacht builders in Lunderskov have now completed a new Faurby 360 DS (formerly Nordship 360 DS, test YACHT 14/2010). The boat has been visually adapted to the new Faurby brand standards. The shipyard installed additional hull windows and made numerous changes and modifications on and below deck. The good and proven brand values of Nordship are of course retained. And the shipyard continues to focus on manual work and customisation. This means that customers in Faurby have a free hand in designing the interior as far as possible. They are free to choose the layout, style and materials. "Anything is possible," says shipyard boss Thomas Hougaard.
The Faurby 360 DS is equipped with a comparatively high two-reef rig from Seldén. The self-tacking jib is also standard. The hull and deck are laminated as a GRP sandwich construction with a foam core. In addition, the hull is reinforced with a continuous steel frame.
The new Faurby 360 DS will be available at market launch for a basic price of 505,670 euros including 19 per cent VAT and sails (main and self-tacking jib). The deck saloon yacht will make its first official appearance under the new name Faurby at the Ancora Yacht Festival in Neustadt in Holstein. Germany's largest inwater boat show will take place from Friday, 23 May to Sunday, 25 May.
