A breath of fresh air at Najad - will the shipyard soon be back on track?
The two traditional Swedish brands have surprisingly found a buyer. The new man at the helm comes from the boat trade

According to reports in the Swedish local press, the Swede Runo Gillholm has taken over the shipyard together with a partner from the property sector. Gillholm has been operating the shipyard north of Gothenburg since 1992. Gillholms Marina AB and is a dealer of the Windy and Minor motorboat brands, among others. His business also offers moorings, full-service winter storage and a used boat dealership.

According to the liquidator Fredrik Tengström, the shipyard site on Vindö will be retained and run as an independent company. The two brands Najad and Nordwest will also continue to exist and both sailing and motor yachts will be built. New employees will be hired after the holiday season. The summer holiday in Sweden traditionally ends on 15 August.

Tengström did not want to comment on the purchase price. However, according to him, Swedbank, as the largest creditor, is satisfied with the deal. Previous attempts to sell the company had failed because of their vote.
