The design and concept are specifically tailored to optimise the ORC rating. At the ORC World Championship 2025 in Estonia, the exciting Dane will then show what she is made of. The XR 41 project was officially unveiled last January at the trade fair in Düsseldorf. One year later, at the next boot 2025, the racer will be on show as a world premiere at the same venue.
"It's a great feeling to be back on the racing scene," says X-Yachts CEO Kræn Brinck Nielsen about the new project. After all, the X-Yachts brand has its roots in racing. In this respect, the shipyard is also returning to its origins with the new XR 41 project. However, X-Yachts decided early on not to create an ultimate one design with the new boat, i.e. not a pure one-size-fits-all class. Instead, the concept of the XR 41 is intended to offer a high degree of flexibility so that it can be modified as required and adapted to the personal needs of regatta sailors. This means that the boat can be competitive in a variety of different racing formats, not just ORC.
The XR 41 will not only be a racing boat, but also a sporty cruising boat. To take this into account, parts of the interior are designed in modules that can be removed for regattas and quickly reinstalled for touring. The XR 41 is also available in two versions: Race and Sport.
In addition to participating in the ORC World Championship 2025 in Tallinn (Estonia), the newly formed X-Yachts Racing Team will already be taking part in renowned regattas such as the May Offshore Regatta (MAIOR) in Kiel, Kiel Week and the Baltic Sea long-distance classics Gotland Rund and Fünen Rund in 2025 with the new XR 41.
In the meantime, the Danes at X-Yachts have also published an initial, provisional price list. The base price for the XR 41 will be 521,220 euros. This price includes 19% VAT and the carbon fibre rig from Axxon Composites. However, the sails and electronics are not yet included in the basic equipment. X-Yachts will be presenting the new XR 41 as a world premiere at the Boot trade fair in Düsseldorf from 18 January (Hall 16, Stand B 18).
