Compact, sporty and yet surprisingly easy to handle: the Falcon 22 Racing, built in Germany by Neptun Yachten, is designed to appeal to beginners as well as experienced sailors. The new test video on YACHT-TV shows just how well it manages this balancing act.

The Falcon 22 Racing combines the concept of a straightforward keel dinghy with modern design and sporting performance. With a fixed ballast keel and additional buoyancy chambers, this boat – just 6.56 metres long – offers plenty of stability and safety. At the same time, an efficient sail plan and a large gennaker provide plenty of potential when it’s time to pick up speed. In the YACHT test, speeds of between seven and just under nine knots were achieved on broad reaches.

This makes the Falcon 22 Racing ideal not only for beginners, sailing schools and leisurely cruising, but also for experienced sailors looking for a fun time. Another striking feature is the exceptionally spacious cockpit, which is over four metres long. The boat is built by Neptun Yachts in Germany.

The new test video on YACHT-TV shows how the Falcon 22 Racing performs in a fresh breeze, how easy the gennaker is to handle, and what the strengths and weaknesses of the design are.
