The Tiwal 2XL
Stand-up paddleboard with mast, sailing dinghy or just for fun? The 2XL model is not only larger, but also much easier to set up and now also has a foresail.

Unpack, inflate, sail away. The principle has not changed compared to the other models. At 3.80 metres in length, the Tiwal 2XL is larger and largely dispenses with the stabilising tube structure that forms the outriggers and stabilises the rig on the Tiwal 3. The edge for shifting the body weight to windward is now part of the inflatable hull. The side outriggers as part of the hull also create a more protected cockpit, where previously there was only a surface like on a surfboard. With a width of 1.56 metres, it offers space for up to four people. The maximum payload is stated as 240 kilograms, which is roughly equivalent to two adults and two children.

The sail plan is also new, now also with a headsail. The mainsail with an area of 8.2 square metres can be reefed to 6.0 square metres. There is also a 1.8 square metre jib, which can be easily reduced in area using a furling system. According to the manufacturer, the sail plan is designed for sailing fun in light to moderate winds. If the wind is stronger, it is recommended to furl the headsail completely and reef the mainsail.

Apart from stiffeners at the foot of the mast, the cockpit is completely free, which also creates more space and freedom of movement for fellow sailors. This reduction also simplifies rigging. The Tiwal 2XL comes in two bags measuring 145 x 40 x 35 centimetres. One contains the folded hull, which weighs 30 kilograms. The second bag contains the rig, centreboard, rudder, air pump and sail. This bag weighs 27 kilograms. Assembly should be completed in 25 minutes.

The mast is assembled from five carbon fibre tubes. The support structure at the base of the mast is made of aluminium profiles. The centreboard and rudder are made of GRP, both of which can be raised for easy beaching.
