The stylish performance cruiser is built with a T-keel with a lead bomb and two slim rudder blades. As far as the equipment is concerned, however, the customer should be able to decide for themselves, depending on whether the boat is to be used for leisurely cruising or active regatta sailing. There should be numerous variants for customised configuration.
The cockpit layout with primary and secondary sheet winches on the side of the coaming and additional winches on the coachroof for halyards and trim lines corresponds to the classic, tried-and-tested arrangement for sporty performance cruisers. The high and powerful twin-reef rig with ample sail area is a perfect match, and two or three cabins are possible
The interior layout remains conventional with two double cabins aft and a large forward cabin for the owners with a central island bed. However, according to the initial design plans, only one toilet room is planned to the side of the companionway. As an alternative to the conventional interior design, the aft cabin on the starboard side can also make way for a spacious forecastle. In this two-cabin version, the wet room aft is larger and supplemented by a separate shower room. Proper navigation is also possible in this version.
The hull and deck are built as GRP sandwich constructions using the vacuum infusion process. The T-keel consists of a cast iron fin and an attached lead ballast body. Jeppesen & Pons has not yet announced where the boat will be built. Just this much: production and sales of the JP40 are to take place from two locations in Denmark and Spain. The duo will be announcing details soon. Apparently, the moulds for the hull and deck are currently in production. However, it is apparently still too early for a detailed price list or detailed specifications.
