The new Ovni 400 was presented in a test in YACHT 3/2020, at the same time as the much-noticed premiere of the new model from Alubat at the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf in January. The aluminium experts in Les Sables-d'Olonne have now finished building the second boat for the new model generation. The concept DNA of the Ovni 370 also remains largely unchanged. This means: robust aluminium construction with a double folding bulkhead, integral canting keel and two stub rudders for dry-docking, plus an optional tarp bracket above the cockpit and the unavoidable equipment carrier at the stern. The design once again comes from the Mortain & Mavrikios studio and is based on the design language of its larger sister, the Ovni 400. The very pronounced folding bulkhead, particularly at the stern, the extremely full foredeck with the negative and round-shaped stem and the almost vertically sloping freeboards all round are striking.
Compared to the only slightly longer 400 (hull length 12.28 metres), the Ovni 370 offers more variance for the interior design with two fundamentally different variants. The shipyard is building the new Ovni either as a proper deck saloon yacht with a raised seating area or in a classic version with a low settee and raised navigation and galley. The current price for the market launch of the Ovni 370 will be 335,580 euros. This price includes a single set of Dacron sails and 19 per cent VAT.
