Jeanneau is consistently pushing ahead with the ambitious expansion of its cruising line and is presenting the new Sun Odyssey 455 for the 2026 season. The model replaces both the previous Sun Odyssey 440 and the 490, making it the new flagship of the cruising range. The cruiser, which is around 14 metres long, can currently still be seen as a novelty at the boot Düsseldorf trade fair.

In future, the Sun Odyssey 440 will only be offered as a simply equipped Millennium version and exclusively for charter use. This means that the new 455 will also succeed the smaller model in the owner's segment. At the same time, Jeanneau is changing its design partner for the larger yachts in the Sun Odyssey range with hull lengths of over twelve metres: for the new 455, the French company has commissioned the Marc Lombard Yacht Design studio, which is already responsible for all the smaller models in the range, for the first time in this segment too. The previous larger Sun Odyssey 440 and 490 models, on the other hand, were still designed by Philippe Briand.

Walkaround is part of the concept

The brand-typical cockpit design with the Walkaround concept is of course also retained in the latest model. The recessed running decks enable safe, barrier-free passageways around the helm stations and at the same time ensure efficient handling during all manoeuvres. This concept has already proven itself many times over in tests of the current Sun Odyssey models.

Nevertheless, the cockpit design of the new flagship has been further developed. The high coamings now completely enclose the seat thwarts - even in the stern area. The sheet winches are positioned on platforms directly in front of the helm stations so that the helmsman and crew can work ergonomically and efficiently. Halyards and trim lines are led over the coachroof and operated on two stopper batteries with winches to the side of the companionway. As standard, the Sun Odyssey 455 is equipped with a two-sailed aluminium mast, classic mainsail and overlapping genoa. Alternatively, a furling mast or a self-tacking jib are available.

Three or four cabins are possible

The standard version of the new Jeanneau has a spacious owner's cabin forward and two further double cabins aft. The layout is complemented by two spacious heads, each with a separate shower. For charter use, the Sun Odyssey 455 can optionally be configured with up to four double cabins and four heads - then without showers.
