Anyone who plunges into the water to cool off in summer is regularly amazed at how difficult it can be to get back on board. In the absence of a permanently installed climbing aid, loose or rickety makeshift devices are often used, often resulting in bruises and bruised limbs.
Moreover, with a few exceptions, the steps available in the equipment trade are usually not attractive. And if you do find an attractive example, its dimensions and design will rarely match the boat.
The best solution to this problem is a ladder specially designed and built for the boat. This can also fulfil special requests, such as this one that our photographer Sönke Hucho developed for his 15 dinghy cruiser "Tina".
The aesthetically curved part was made from fine woods with large handles that make it easier to climb up and with extra-wide, non-slip steps. The swim ladder can be folded up and fits into the forecastle when you want to go sailing again after a break. When unfolded, solid fittings prevent it from folding up accidentally.
Not a single screw in the ship is required to securely fasten it to the side of the boat. The swim ladder fits snugly on deck and is stabilised by two existing deck fittings.
