Last summer, the Friends of Classic Yachts organised its tenth night regatta in the Danish harbour town of Svendborg. To mark this anniversary, the "Colours of The Run" photo competition was organised.

The three categories were The Regatta and the Yachts, The Night of The Run and On board and in the harbour. Prizes were awarded to the winners of The Run and from the photo competition at the winter meeting of the Circle of Friends.

The winning photos and their stories

My first participation in the "Run" was in 2019, when these two pictures were taken in the evening light and I've been hooked ever since. The atmosphere, sailing at night, the great camaraderie. It all comes together in the third picture - no words.

This year to Ærøskøbing

This year, the destination of the night regatta is Ærøskøbing. The race starts from four different locations: Flensburg Fjord, the Schlei, Strander Bucht and Fehmarnsund.

Flotilla trip to Kiel

After the regatta weekend, a flotilla trip is planned from Ærøskøbing to the classics rendezvous in Kiel. Under the title "Midsummer Sail", the classics will set off on Sunday 14 June to wherever the wind blows them. The day's destinations will be www.the-run-regatta.de and www.klassiker-rendezvous.com so that interested parties can join at any time. The goal is the opening event of the Rendezvous on Thursday, 18 June in Kappeln. From there, a race to Kiel will take place the following Friday.
