On 12 June, the classics start again for the night regatta The Run. The destination is Æroskøbin, with starts from Flensburg, Schleimünde, Kiel and Fehmarn. A week later, the fleet can be admired at the Rendezvous of the Classics at Kieler Woche. In between, the traditional boats and yachts will sail together on their Summer Sail squadron trip in the Danish South Sea.

On 12 June, 21:30, the regatta night starts from The Run to Ærøskøbing. The approximately 55 nautical miles for the starters from Schleimünde, Kiel and Flensburg Fjord lead with a detour west of Helnæs to Lyø, where the island is to be passed to the east. From here, the course must be set for the finish north of Ærøskøbing. The Fehmarnsund starting group rounds Skjolnæs Fyr and heads directly for the finish line. The large cruiser yachts will sail a long course from Kiel, with a detour east of Hælnes Fyr, around 62 nautical miles to the finish. The overall winner with a race value up to KLR 130, the Ship's Bell from Toplicht and the overall winner, the Toplicht from Toplicht, will be awarded.

The Run - Party in Ærøskøbing

In the morning, a hearty breakfast awaits the crews in the Café-Bar Nixe in the marina. In the afternoon it should be cosy again, because in the evening you still need strength in your dancing legs. With jazz sounds from Jens Tolksdorf (saxophone) and Frank Schnelle (piano) on the pier of the old harbour, or with ice cream and coffee at Torvet.

What closes The Run 2026 on Saturday evening is also the prelude to the classic SummerSail: the barbecue dinner and the party afterwards in the old workshop harbour! The Charcoal Sunset from Berlin will provide relaxed to danceable rhythms.

Squadron sailing in the South Seas

On Sunday morning, there will once again be breakfast in the Café-Bar Nixe and a relaxed start to the midsummer Danish South Sea - to where the wind takes us: The classic Summersail, the relaxed flotilla sailing through the mid-summer Danish South Sea. The goal is the opening event of the regatta weekend at the Rendezvous of the Classics on Thursday 18 June in Kappeln.

From the communications of the Friends of Classic YachtsWhen the finish of the night regatta The Run is passed on the morning of 13 June and the crews make their way home the following Sunday, a very special chapter traditionally begins for some of them: five days of wind, water and wonderful encounters - on the way to the rendezvous of the classics in Kappeln and Kiel from 18 to 21 June.

This flotilla trip is more than just a transition between two events - it is an invitation to take a deep breath, to sail together and to consciously experience. No competition, no entry fee, no starting signal. Instead: Pure relaxation in one of the most beautiful sailing regions in Europe - the Danish islands south of Funen.

Whether in a small harbour, at anchor in a quiet bay or at an evening barbecue on the shore - it's not the destination that counts here, but the journey. The wind points the way, the crew sets the pace and the atmosphere is created by the togetherness. Anyone who wants to round off the regatta night in style and ring in the rendezvous with a touch of adventure and serenity is cordially invited to become part of this open, informal trip. Simply wherever the wind takes us.

Destination classic rendezvous

This flotilla trip is not an official event of the regattas The Run or Klassiker-Rendezvous. There is no central organisation, no binding registration, no fixed procedures. The initiators simply want to bring together people who are interested in sailing together in a relaxed atmosphere. Everything else arises from the moment - carried by the wind, the crew and the joy of sailing.
