Have you always wanted to know what you experience on a sailing cruise? Then you should listen to our podcast host Timm Kruse and Konstanze Bassin from Sea Cloud Cruises. In the 32nd episode of YACHT - the sailing podcast Insights into the history, the journeys and the adventures

In this episode, Timm Kruse and Konstanze Bassin from Sea Cloud Cruises take you on a journey: The three-master named Sea Cloud has been sailing the seas since the 1930s and has a remarkable past. The sailing ship was originally commissioned by the American billionaire Marjorie Merriweather Post as the largest and most luxurious private yacht in the world. Konstanze Bassin will tell you first-hand what connection the American had to sailing and how the Sea Cloud was rediscovered after being forgotten and finally transferred to Germany to be used today as an exclusive cruise yacht.

The charter manager provides interesting insights into how interested parties can become part of a trip on the sailing ships and what special experiences await passengers on board. In addition to the Sea Cloud, two other sailing cruisers have joined the fleet: the Sea Cloud II and the Sea Cloud Spirit. Through the interaction with the crew, the tradition-conscious maintenance of the ship and exceptional charter experiences, Sea Cloud Cruises offers unique voyages for guests.

The following questions, among others, will be addressed:

  1. What makes the Sea Cloud a unique sailing ship and how has its history shaped its current use?
  2. Which destinations and routes are typical for the Sea Cloud and its sister ships and why?
  3. What opportunities do guests on board have to actively participate in sailing and how does this contribute to their experience?
