Around 200 classic yachts sailed into the Danish town of Åbenrå as part of the night regatta "The Run", which was characterised by fresh winds from south-easterly directions, where the local sailing club gave them a warm welcome. Even persistent rain could not spoil the beautiful start to the 5th Classic Week of the Friends of Classic Yachts.

Our Photographer Nico Krauss was there with the camera on Sunday when six groups started a race in Genner Bay, around Barsø and on a cross course into Als Fjord and on into Stegsvig, where the fleet passed the narrow entrance to Dyvig after crossing the finish line to moor in the harbour in front of the Badehotel.

After a day of safety training and a shore programme, it's back to the starting line tomorrow. The traditionally built yachts and dinghies will then sail either east or west around the Danish island of Alsen to Høruphav.
