More than 50 classic yachts, from small wooden pirates to large twelve-boats, came together last weekend to sail from the Schlei to Kiel and take part in the traditional rendezvous of classic yachts during Kiel Week.

After a welcome barbecue at the Henningsen & Steckmest shipyard in Kappeln on the Schlei, the participants travelled together from the start in Schleimünde to Kiel on Friday in midsummer weather. After a further evening event in a hall at the Rathje shipyard, on Saturday we went to the start in front of the Kiellinie and after the signal in several groups onto the course of the classic regatta.

The rendezvous of the classics ended with a prize-giving ceremony and garden party at the Kiel Yacht Club, but on Sunday there were still up-and-downs on the fjord for the twelve-man fleet.

YACHT photographer Nico Krauss was there with his camera and captured this year's rendezvous in spectacular pictures.
