Power package: a Sunreef catalytic converter with Solar Skin 3.0, compatible with dark-coloured paintwork.
Sunreef Yachts introduces Solar Skin 3.0, which makes yachts even smarter and further reduces their carbon footprint.

As with the previous generation Solar Skin 2.0, the efficiency is 24.8 per cent with high thermal stability, even at temperatures above 100 degrees Celsius. The resistance to microcracks was tested in 20,000 charging cycles, and RFID chips facilitate diagnosis and maintenance.

Solar Skin 3.0 also introduces smart yield optimisation, in which algorithms adjust the electrical output in real time - especially where sails or rigging cast shadows. An AI helps to optimise the placement of the panels. The bimini areas of the new Sunreef-Kats are equipped with solar cells that are especially suitable for shaded areas.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
