The MC68 catamaran from McConaghy Boats is designed as a spacious multihull cruiser that is suitable both for owners and for chartering with crew. The standard version of the catamaran has three guest cabins and a crew cabin. Alternatively, a four-cabin layout, in which all cabins are equipped with en-suite bathrooms, and two different five-cabin variants are available. The five-cabin layouts in particular are ideal for operation with a permanent crew who live on board permanently. The boat can be operated by two people.
The generously dimensioned saloon of the MC68 is characterised by its versatility and spaciousness. Large windows that run the entire length of the hulls and sliding glass doors to the stern provide exceptional light and offer uninterrupted views of the surroundings. The galley is open to the living area, giving the interior an apartment-like character.
The MC68 has two steering positions on the flybridge, which are designed to provide an optimal view forwards. The elevated position also makes demanding harbour manoeuvres easier. In the standard version, the flybridge is equipped with upholstered seating. As an option, an enlarged flybridge can be selected, which offers a U-shaped bench seat with table and upholstered sun loungers behind the helm positions. This extension creates an additional open-air lounge area.
A special feature of the MC68 is the targeted use of carbon, which should lead to an optimised strength-to-weight ratio. According to the shipyard, under full sail the catamaran shows good upwind potential in medium breezes and sails similarly to a monohull. The MC68 unfolds its full potential on room sheet courses and offers an exciting sailing experience. The combination of living comfort and sailing performance makes the MC68 a versatile cruiser for demanding cruising sailors.
The price for the almost 21 metre long catamaran starts at 6.6 million dollars, around 5.2 million euros.
