"This is an absolute first," says Gilles Wagner, Managing Director of Privilège Marine, "It is the first time that Privilège has developed three new catamarans at the same time. Thanks to our strong partner Hanseyachts AG and positive feedback from all over the world, we have decided to present a new modern Privilège line to our customers."
The new 18.65 metre long Privilège Signature 580 has a striking design that is very reminiscent of the modern designs by Outremer with its negative bows and the window front set back slightly behind the "A-pillar" of the superstructure, allowing a panoramic view from the very generously proportioned saloon. The hulls have large windows and allow a panoramic view of the sea from the double berths. The cabins are very comfortable and generously sized. The owner's cabin in the foredeck on the port side even has its own private companionway from the forward cockpit.
Despite being three metres shorter, the Signature 510 still offers an overwhelming amount of living space and comfort. According to the shipyard, the owner's cabin is the largest in its class - a feature that Privilège has emphasised since the 1990s. Unlike the 580, which is a spacious luxury vessel with numerous comfortable cabins for a larger crew, the 510 was designed for blue water cruising with medium occupancy, but also offers plenty of space and comfort for guests.
What is striking about both ships is that, in contrast to the current trend, Privilège has dispensed with excessively high flybridges. The steering console is located on the main bulkhead of both catamarans with an unobstructed view over the cabin superstructure. Although the 580 has a seating area on the fixed sunroof above the cockpit, the appearance has been realised in a much flatter and more pleasing way than the boats of other competitors or even the Privilège series' own Série 6. While the 580 has a sporty and modern design, the 510 emphasises functionality and proven solutions. Both boats are optimally designed for their intended purpose.
"Of course, we will continue to manufacture our successful Série 6 and Série 7 sailing catamarans," says Gilles Wagner. "Privilège will therefore have a total of five luxury catamarans in its programme, which can be built individually for each customer." In the dedicated configurator on the website, interested parties can put together their dream boat from numerous layout and colour options.
Privilège's third new development is the Euphorie 5 motor catamaran - a vessel that fits perfectly into the charter market in the Caribbean or Bahamas, where motor catamarans are experiencing significant growth. With two 220 hp diesel engines, it can reach speeds of up to 21 knots and promises fast journeys.
The shipyard quotes the standard prices for the new catamarans at 1,568,000 euros for the Signature 580 and 995,000 euros for the Signature 510. The motor catamaran Euphorie 5 will be available from 1,066,000 euros (all prices excluding VAT).
