The shipyard in Fiumicino near Rome builds almost everything, from 21-foot sports boats to 100-foot luxury racers. Now the shipyard wants to broaden its range even further and is working on a new programme of cruising catamarans. The first ship, the Comet Cat 37, is already on the market. And it has already received its first welcome accolade with a nomination for European Yacht of the Year 2015.

The YACHT test editorial team has already scrutinised the exciting twin hull. The test of the Comet Cat 37 will appear in the next issue.YACHT, issue 24/2015. The magazine will be available at newsagents from next Wednesday, 18 November.

Until then, the first pictures from the YACHT test are available here as a gallery

The Comet Cat 37 is unmistakably a tourer: high hulls, massive superstructure, huge window areas
