Comparison of entry-level catamarans
Lagoon versus Leopard versus Nautitech. YACHT organises the first group test for the entry-level class of cruising catamarans

The market for touring catamarans is booming, and not without reason: the concepts for modern twin-hulls have become much more versatile, and the latest generation of multihulls now sail much better. What's more, moorings are increasingly available for catamarans, not only in the Mediterranean but also in the north.

So it's no wonder that the market for ride-on cats is particularly competitive at the moment. And the manufacturers are serving the segment with the latest offerings. YACHT invited the leading manufacturers to La Grande Motte in southern France for a comparative test within the class. Also taking part: the Lagoon 39 (YACHT 12/13 test) and the Nautitech Open 40 (18/14), both from France. Plus the brand new Leopard 40 from South Africa. The Fountaine Pajot shipyard unfortunately had to cancel its participation with the Lipari 41 for organisational reasons.

The details of the exciting comparison can be found in the comparison testin the new YACHT, issue no. 12/15. The magazine is now available at newsagents.
