The hull remains the same. This was already the case with the Vilm 34 and Vilm 101. Now the shipyard in Lauterbach on the island of Rügen is pursuing the same plan with the Vilm 37 and Vilm 115. In other words: Vilm 37 as a sportier aft cockpit yacht with 106 per cent genoa and slightly longer keel, Vilm 115 as a more comfortable tourer with robust cockpit roofing (fixed sprayhood with windscreen) and self-tacking jib as standard.
The two new types were designed by the Bremerhaven engineers at Judel/Vrolijk & Co on the basis of the Nissen designs Vilm 34/101. The new yachts now have a free-standing rudder blade without a skeg and are equipped with a modern, performance-orientated L-keel in various draught variants.
The freeboard of the Vilm 115 will be slightly higher than that of the 37, which should provide more space in the cockpit under the fixed hardtop. The shipyard is also emphasising the conceptual division into two sections. Below deck, the layout of the previous models has essentially been retained. This means: owner's cabin forward, second double berth aft and a wet cell, plus galley, navigation and a large storage space aft. Of course, there are also numerous options for customising the interior of the new Vilm models.
Vilm Yachts has not yet finalised the prices. However, they are expected to be slightly lower than those for the predecessor models 34/101, i.e. around 180,000 euros (Vilm 37) and around 190,000 euros (Vilm 115).
The shipyard intends to present the first completed hull and, of course, all the plans to interested customers at the in-house exhibition on 12/13 May 2012.
