Test stroke: good control even with only one rudder
The new model from Giebelstadt fits seamlessly into the existing programme. Unlike the 45, however, it only has one rudder blade

With plenty of volume, a large superstructure, a huge tailgate and many rectangular windows in the hull and coachroof, the design by Farr Yacht Design and BMW Designworks USA is immediately recognisable as a Bavaria

Under sail, the ship impresses with its pleasing height and speed, great stability and good control. The deck layout with two mainsheets without a traveller also works well.

The shipyard's endeavours to achieve a higher quality and very solid construction are also visible, especially in the area of the floor assembly.

The Bavaria Cruiser 40 is only available as a three-cabin version, but there is a choice of three types of wood for the interior.

Test in the current issue, plus an interview with Jens Ludmann, the new Bavaria boss.
