Well thought out: good layout, good sense of space

In just eight years of production, 1121 units were built: The Maxi 84 was and still is a big seller as a second-hand boat. The test is now available as a PDF download.

The large genoa provides plenty of steam. The cockpit is protected

Cosy. Sufficiently large saloon with headroom in the centre. The berths are tight overall

Unsightly: Gas bottle in the deep anchor locker

Redirected: The traps in the cockpit are not standard, but the reinforcements in the deck are

Attached: the rudder on the transom. The bearing sleeves will fail over time. The tiller then vibrates
