Cornish Crabbers is expanding its dense model programme with a new 24-foot version as an English interpretation of the compact sea cruiser

Clinker look, squat classic lines, a positive stern with attached rudder, built-in engine, long keel with centreboard and a cutter rig with gaff - it hardly gets more special and traditional these days, especially in the smaller segment. The Cornish Crabber MKV, which measures 7.32 metres above deck, also has a very smart interior layout: with a double berth in the open bow and adjoining sofas that can also be used as sleeping areas, a small longitudinal pantry on the starboard side as well as an optional dog bunk and a toilet room, the interior has been wrested for all it's worth. With the lifting roof, there is even standing height, at least for people who are no taller than 1.88 metres (according to the shipyard).

The heavily divided sail area of the cutter rig keeps the forces to be handled low, and the gaff rigging means easy mast laying in this size of boat. The boat is the latest development in a long line of Cornish Crabber 24s, which started out in the 1980s built from wood. The new boat is intended to retain the traditional charm of the original, while at the same time being technically up to date and priced at around 72,000 euros, depending on the exchange rate of the pound sterling. The boat is sold in Germany by Frank Dierkes and his company English Cutter Yachts.
