In January of this year, the new owners of Comfort Yachts - Niels Töbke and Chris de la Motte - announced the relocation of the entire production from Arvika in Sweden to Freienohl in the new Shipyard SQ announced. All current Comfortina models (35, 39, 42) are to be built at the former Dehler site in future.
The first German-built boat, a Comfortina 35, left the halls in Freienohl a few days ago and is already afloat on the Baltic Sea. Next weekend (24-26 May), Comfort Yachts will present the new boat at the Hanseboot Ancora Boat Show in the Ancora Marina in Neustadt on jetty V.
After a construction period of just four months, the champagne corks are popping these days at the Comfort Yachts headquarters in Schleswig. Managing Director Niels Töpke: "We would like to thank the entire team at SQ in Freienohl for the great collaboration and their outstanding commitment." Töpke is more than satisfied with the result of the cooperation: "The quality is excellent, just as you would expect from Comfortina!"
But it is not just the production site that is new. At the same time as relocating production, Comfort Yachts has also given the 35 a completely new, modern interior. The current look is more contemporary than before, with more light-coloured surfaces replacing the typical Scandinavian style of Swedish production (photo above). However, fans of aisled wooden interiors will still be able to order the previous interior design as the "Classic" variant (photo below). In general, owners will be offered more options for customising the design in future.
However, the price for both versions remains the same. A clear-sailed Comfortina 35 currently costs 210,630 euros from the Freienohl shipyard, including 19 per cent VAT.
