Note
GENERAL The Hallberg-Rassy 54 is widely regarded as one of the most elegant, safe, and capable yachts ever launched by Hallberg-Rassy. This particular yacht was launched in July 2011 and purpose-configured to participate in the 2011 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC). During her Atlantic crossing, she demonstrated outstanding sailing performance in both strong and light winds. With a spectacular 180 m² butterfly sail configuration, she delivered impressive speed, balance, and offshore stability — confirming her status as a true Bluewater cruiser. Built for Long-Range Autonomy. This HR 54 is exceptionally well equipped for extended offshore passages and independent cruising. Extensive additional equipment installed 2011 / 2012, exceeding original standard specification. Estimated value 2011 additional equipment approx. EUR 520,000 (incl. 18% VAT).
EXTENDEND SERVICE, RANGE & PROPULSION PERFORMANCE To maximize range and reduce dependency on fuel stops, an additional stainless steel diesel tank has been installed. -Total diesel capacity: 1,220 Liters (3 tanks) -Cruising range under engine: approx. 1,620 NM -Average cruising speed: approx. 8 knots -3 blade Gori propeller with overdrive function for efficient motoring in calm conditions
DIVE STATION PACKAGE -Bauer air compressor.* -Two diving cylinders.* -20 meter air hose with Poseidon regulator for underwater hull inspection, cleaning and other underwater works* -Custom diving/rescue allroud strong stainless steel ladder -Includes basic; a cyclops, snorkel, swim fins, a simple underwater lamp, a lifeline, a weight belt and a diving knife. This setup allows safe hull inspection and maintenance anywhere in the world — a rare and valuable feature for serious long-distance sailors.
This joint configuration enables efficient long passages even in light winds and significantly reduces logistical constraints in remote cruising areas.
OWNERSHIP & BACKGROUND The current owner followed the construction and launch of this highly specified HR 54 in 2011. The first owner, a passionate and financially strong sailing enthusiast, had a clear vision: to combine Atlantic crossings with advanced scuba diving capability. After completing his Atlantic ambitions in 2011–2012, he decided to pursue even larger yachting projects. Although a Hallberg-Rassy 64 was considered, it was ultimately deemed too small, and an 82-foot superyacht was ordered instead. This created the opportunity for the current owner to acquire the yacht in 2012.
CONDITION & MAINTENANCE Professionally maintained by certified shipyards Last yard service and thorough hull survey carried out in Malta, May 2024, as documented in the enclosed photographs. The certified surveyor reported no remarks. Continuous supervision. Ongoing cleaning and care. First three years of ownership a live-aboard professional captain. The yacht presents in very good condition and has been managed and updated with long-term ownership in mind.

Upgrading to a larger or smaller yacht is an exciting step, but it's important to make sure the new yacht meets your expectations in both size and desired features. Be aware that some yacht size listings on the market may be inaccurate or misleading. It's important to verify all size details with a trusted source before making a decision to go further. Manufacturers sometimes assign model numbers based on factors other than hull length, such as marketing strategies or design evolution only. Always cross-check yacht dimensions with official manufacturer documentation, the yacht’s certificate or consult a professional before making a purchase. Request an official measurement from the manufacturer or have a marine surveyor physically measure the yacht before finalizing your purchase.
Surprisingly, the Hallberg-Rassy 54 has an overall hull length of 16.74 meters, while the newer Hallberg-Rassy 55 is slightly shorter at 16.68 meters. This highlights how model numbers don't always correspond to actual size, so it's essential to check official specifications so you don’t end up with a yacht that’s either smaller than expected or too large or deep for your berth. Before committing to your next yacht purchase, take the time to consult with a marine surveyor or trusted broker to ensure your new Yacht meets all your expectations. Taking these steps will help ensure your investment matches your expectations and needs.
OPPORTUNITY The owner's current plan is either: After this spring season's planned careful care and updating sail here back to Scandinavia, or To sell her in her present location and proceed with a new Hallberg-Rassy order. (a further option for the owner is to consider an exchange for a well‑kept premium yacht already located in Northern Europe, between 42 and 64 feet)
This is a truly unique option to acquire a fully equipped, ARC-proven Hallberg-Rassy 54 with long-range capability and unique diving infrastructure. A yacht that is already in the absolute best position to explore the Mediterranean in all directions — after final security checks/updates** ready for immediate cruising.

OWNERS COMMENTS AND SPECIFICATION HR 54 No 41 ADDITIONAL FACILITIES/COSTS
-HARD TOP VERSION*: "The Doghouse” is a protective enclosure on certain sailboats, such as the Hallberg-Rassy 54. It is designed to shield crew and equipment from harsh weather and rain. From inside the Doghouse (DH), crew can better monitor navigation instruments and also from there crew can operate the extra autopilot control, all while crew remaining dry and comfortable. This extra autopilot control* allows crew to make course adjustments quickly without having to leave the protected area, enhancing safety and convenience during challenging conditions. (* This HR 54 is equipped with two separate autopilot systems for extra safety. One system features double controls unit located at both the steering pedestal and the front of the cockpit, while the other is controlled solely from the steering pedestal.
DH shields protect also electronics and the front cockpit from sun and saltwater exposure. This reducing the risk of corrosion and short circuits that can lead to equipment failure, safety hazards, and higher maintenance costs. In addition to ensuring safety in challenging weather, the DH offers a well-positioned, comfortable area with excellent visibility for the helmsman during sailing under intense sunlight.
DH HR54 models offer enhanced protection from harsh weather and greater comfort on long voyages. However, these models come new with significant additional costs. For example, on this HR54, the DH option costs approximately 38,000 €, plus expenses for an extra autopilot control unit and a HR original sun protection net system for the DH windows.
The DH also has an attachment for a safety line, and an additional GPS antenna is mounted on its roof. In contrast, HR 54 standard models include a low windscreen and classic sprayhood, lacking these DH features. Whether you are a coastal cruiser or an offshore adventurer, choosing between the DH and standard models depends on your sailing habits and priorities. If your plan only is to sail in beautiful weather, close to the coast and spend the night in sheltered bays or marinas - then a DH model is overkill. For experienced offshore sailors, the DH model offers essential features that significantly enhance safety and comfort. Although the DH model only represents a significant upfront investment, its enhanced protection can prevent costly equipment damage and improve crew well-being during extended offshore passages. # # #FileNotFoundError: The specified file could not be located (to be continued)
