Webinar on 5 December: Practical planning - a fictitious trip from Hamburg to Flensburg

In co-operation with the German Ocean Sports Association Hansa e.V., DHH for short, we are organising a webinar with practical trip planning. The theoretical knowledge gained from the driving licence training will be put into practice using two practical examples.

We transfer a yacht from Hamburg's city harbour through the busy Elbe to Brunsbüttel. The second section continues through the Kiel Canal (NOK) into the Baltic Sea, past warning and shooting areas and into the Flensburg Fjord.

• Where can I get up-to-date information on tides, weather and hazard reports?
• How do I analyse this data?
• When is the best time to cast off and where do I moor?
• Which radio channels need to be monitored, where can I find information?
• How do I use AIS?
• SeeSchStrO and harbour regulations - what specifically needs to be observed?
• Where and how do I get help in an emergency?

The aim of the seminar is to be able to plan future trips independently using nautical documents, literature, the Internet and apps.
