Anyone entering the world of sailing is usually faced with a mountain of questions: How do I even get out on the water? Do I need a sailing licence, my own boat or is a sailing course on holiday enough? The options are vast - and at least as varied as sailing itself. It is therefore difficult to find the right way to get started.
This usually depends on your own interests: For example, if you are a cruising sailor planning longer trips or even want to charter a yacht, there is no getting around the right sailing licence - and you will benefit enormously from one or two solid courses. If, on the other hand, you only want to sail with friends on inland waterways from time to time, you should think carefully about whether it is really worth the effort of obtaining a sailing licence. After all, there are many ways to have fun on the water that don't have to be complicated or expensive.
In the new webinar "How to really get started - the new YACHT beginner's guide" YACHT editor Fabian Boerger gives a compact overview: What are the entry options for sailing? Which licences do you really need - and which not? He clearly explains how to avoid expensive detours, superfluous courses and unnecessary examination fees.
The webinar is aimed both at beginners who do not yet know how to get started and at newcomers to sailing who have already gained some experience and are now planning the next step. The aim is to provide orientation - and to find the right individual route on the way to sailing.
Fabian Boerger has been passionate about the water since he was a child: he first sailed dinghies and surfed, but today he is drawn to the sea with his own boat. Whether it's club life, sailing courses on holiday or preparing for sports boat licences - he has experienced a lot himself and knows the hurdles from his own experience. As a reporter, he repeatedly answers questions from beginners, combining his expertise with a great deal of enthusiasm for sailing.
NOTE If you are unable to attend the webinar, you can also register as a "absent" participant the recording of the webinar (but limited to four weeks).
