In this webinar, participants will learn how a mast works and how the correct tension in the shrouds and stays affects the trim of the sails. YACHT editor Michael Good takes participants step by step from the basics through to the finer points of rig trim.
- Different types of rigging: what are the differences?
- The basis for correct trim: Is the mast really straight?
- Better to measure than to guess: the correct rig tension is crucial.
- Is the mast deflection correct? Checking whilst under sail will confirm this.
- A question of pressure distribution: adjusting the mast angle correctly.
