The webinar is about reading the weather and making the right judgement. Whether it's a long period of high pressure or a chain of lows can have a massive impact on sailing conditions. But how do I recognise the weather patterns correctly and if it does get uncomfortable, how and where can I spot the dangers in good time? Experienced meteorologist and weather router Sebastian Wache explains.

Dipl.-Met. Sebastian Wache (41) studied meteorology and oceanography at Geomar in Kiel.
However, he has been working at WetterWelt GmbH since 2006. He not only provides the media (NDR Schleswig-Holstein Magazin) with information on the weather, but also guides sailors safely across the world's oceans. In addition to pure cruising sailors, sailors such as Lennart Burke, Melwin Fink, Sanni Beucke and Boris Herrmann also book his services for optimal weather preparation before regattas. In addition to the many virtual nautical miles when routing, the passionate sailor collects plenty of them himself on his maxi in his free time. He thus combines weather knowledge with sailing experience. As a private lecturer at the university and speaker, he knows how to convey his knowledge to the audience in an appropriate way.

Content of the webinar:

  • Introduction to weather incl. short basics
