"Malizia - Seaexplorer": virtual tour on Boris Herrmann's boatPhoto: borisherrmannracing; YACHT
Just in time for the christening, Boris Herrmann's team has published a virtual tour of the boat. We took a look at it and comment on the details

This really is a powerful tool, hardly ever seen before in sailing. Boris Herrmann's team digitised the "Malizia - Seaexplorer" together with a production company and stuffed it into the computer. It is possible to walk around the boat almost like in reality, and almost every detail can be seen inside. There are also explanations of some special features as well as a few entertaining and informative tools. For example, a tape measure that can be used to measure distances on board or areas. If you also have Oculus Rift 3D glasses, you can enjoy the whole tour in virtual reality. However, this is not necessary, as the resolution and the overall impression are very impressive even without it.

We took a walk round the boat in advance. Andreas Fritsch, our Imoca expert, who has already been on the boat twice during the construction phase, and Lars Bolle, editor-in-chief of Wassersport digital, comment on what they know about the boat - and what they don't.

Andreas Fritsch adds his insider knowledge to the usually rather sparse information in a very detailed and well-founded manner. Take a look at the video and let us know what you think of this format in the comments on YouTube. Should we do something like this more often, does it annoy you, what could be better? However, we are by no means professionals in this type of presentation and have done something like this for the first time, so please be gracious.

When you have finished watching the video, you can access the video via this link and take a walk through "Malizia - Seaexplorer" yourself:
