Season extension thanks to a complete fleet with heaters - Thinius Yachtcharter also wants to attract crews to the island in the winter months

Sounds rather unusual at first: flying to Mallorca for a charter in November or even December. Sailing instead of drinking mulled wine at the Christmas market. But the idea is actually not that far-fetched: winters on Germany's favourite island are mild and there are often longer periods of calm, sunny weather in the winter months. Those in the know know this: Then you can get to know the island from a different angle - hardly any yachts on the move, no hustle and bustle ashore, empty anchor bays. And temperatures that are nothing unusual for Baltic sailors.

Anyone who wants to embark on this experiment has so far only had to accept one risk: Very few charter yachts in the Mediterranean are equipped with heating. This means that the nights can sometimes be quite cold. The German fleet operator Thinius, which has been operating a charter base in Palma with new Bavarias since 2012, wants to change this. All ships are equipped with heating as standard, which ensures warm nights if the thermometer drops too low.

Very favourable weekly prices and flights should do the rest to encourage crews to try the winter experiment. Information, prices and bookings via Thinius.
