The bascule bridge in Kappeln
After Lindaunis, now also Kappeln: In May and June, the bascule bridge must remain closed on individual days due to repair work

Normally only the dilapidated railway bridge in Lindaunis causes trouble on the Schlei, but this time it is the relatively new bascule bridge in Kappeln. It will be opened on 18. and 20 May and on1 and 3 June is closed for 24 hours from seven o'clock in the morning and is therefore impassable for yachts with masts, according to the responsible water and shipping authority. Originally planned for the6 May The scheduled closure is cancelled.

Passage will only be possible again from seven o'clock the following day. Smaller boats without a standing mast can still pass under the closed bridge during the work, but the clearance height is just 3.30 metres, so sailing boats can only pass through with the rig lowered at most.
