Dutch software company Stentec publishes a planning map of the Friesland region for Windows and Android devices

The "Vaarkaart Friese Meren" was developed in collaboration with the Friesland Tourist Board and the Friese Merenproject. According to the manufacturer, it contains the current depth data, which was newly collected as part of the infrastructure programme, as well as all sea marks. It covers the area between Stavoren, Lemmer and Grou.

The features of the app available in the Windows and Google Play Shop are impressive: Your own position is displayed if the tablet has GPS, many predefined waypoints are available for route planning, and all 145 harbours are entered with the most important information including telephone number and VHF channels. The popular marrekrite sites for overnight stays are also marked and all bridges and locks with maximum clearance height and width are noted. Camping sites with jetties, slipways and petrol stations are also listed. The planning map is intended to be a practical tool for all water sports enthusiasts.

The app can be used in the Google Play Store and is free of charge.
