The current restricted area is missing from the 2015 map sets because it is only temporary
A restricted zone has been set up directly at the traffic separation scheme due to salvage work on old munitions at the bottom of the Baltic Sea

With the start of the holiday season, owner-operated and chartered ships swarm out onto the Baltic Sea for their summer cruises. Those heading for the Kiel Fjord may be surprised to see new yellow buoys on the water when entering or leaving, marking a restricted area that is not included in the current 2015 nautical chart sets.

This is a temporary area at the bottom of which divers and naval drones are searching for ammunition remnants from the Second World War. The area is located slightly north-west of Wendtorf and lies directly on the southern edge of the fairway. The restricted area protrudes into the fairway. It is marked with four yellow-red light buoys (Fl.Y identification) and four unlit yellow-red spar buoys. The work will probably continue throughout the high season.
