It took almost two years to complete the work on the north side of the picturesque bay on the island of Alsen, which is one of the most popular destinations for German sailors in Denmark. The Scandinavian-style Dyvig Bade Hotel is now complete and the restaurant will be open from 1 July.
The jetty in front has been dockable for several months and is now better protected from swell than ever before thanks to additional breakwaters, according to harbour operator Bent Larsen, who runs a charter company in Dyvig with ten yachts, mainly Jeannneaus. This year, however, the fleet was also expanded to include a Deltania 27 and a Hanse 531 as the flagship. The company also has older Jeanneaus in its programme, which are in very good condition.
The mooring fees for visiting yachts are comparatively moderate: 14 euros for yachts up to 9 metres, 17 euros from 9 to 12 metres and 20 euros from 12 metres and longer per night.
The harbour is now officially called Dyvig Bridge and, in addition to the new jetties, also has new sanitary facilities. The operators are also offering an interesting service for the summer: from 26 June to 9 August 2010, buses will run four times a day to Nordborg and the "Danfoss Universe" adventure park.
The journey takes just 15 minutes and is free of charge for marina guests.
