The water sports industry in Turkey has also been increasingly struggling with the crisis for the past two years. The number of charter crews has dropped significantly and owners are relocating their boats to Greece or the western Mediterranean. After years of massive investment by the marina industry in the country to expand capacity, some facilities now have plenty of free space.
To fill them, many operators are now trying to lure customers with discounts of up to 40 per cent on an annual berth. Others are offering free months on contracts or free days in other marinas in the same chain. This makes the already high price level more attractive again for many owners. However, another factor is also attractive for boat owners in Greece: as marina space is now becoming scarce there and the winter storage facilities are correspondingly full, Turkey can be a good alternative for winter work. The service companies in Turkey enjoy an excellent reputation in the Mediterranean and are currently likely to be offering good prices due to a lack of orders.
Udo Hinnerkopf, Turkey correspondent for YACHT, has written to the marinas in the country and asked them for a list of the special conditions they are currently offering. The answers (in English) can be found below.
1st Setur Kalamis-Fenerbahce Marina (Istanbul)
- Small boats (under 24 m2) = 40 % discount till the end of April 30th. 2017
- Other boat above 24 m2 = 25% discount till end of April 2017.
- After the campaign = 25% and 10 % discount respectivelly. We are more than willing to accomodate quotation requests for extreme dimensions un case by case basis.
- Also a 40% ongoing drydock wintering campaign for all drydock contracts expiring on Mar 15th. The campaign is likely to resume June 15th through Mar 15th 2018.
- Last but not the least, Setur Marinas yearly mooring contracts are now eligible to a 50% discount in other 10 Setur Marinas chain throughout their daily moorings. These transient days then are added to their yearly mooring contracts during contract renewals at their present homebase Setur Marina, as bonus days with a limitation of 30 days max.
- Setur Marinas customers with yearly mooring contracts also benefit from Setur Marinas assist programme during technical emergencies, making them eligible to a free of charge drydock upto 7 days and a 50% discount for all lifting and launching services in other Setur Marinas of the Chain.
2. Güzelce Marina (Kumburgaz-Büyükçekmece/Istanbul)
2017 below special conditions:
- 10% discount from the price list + 2 months extra berthing for yearly contracted yachts.
- For yearly contracted yachts, 6 moths land parking is free of charge (between the dates 1st of October 2017 - 31st of March 2018).
- For the yachts which using lifting/launching services, 1 week land parking is free of charge.
- 20% discount from the price list + 4 months extra berthing for the yachts contracted for 2 years.
3rd Setur Cesme Marina
Campaign till 30/04/2017:
- 10% discount for mooring, lifting & launching and hardstanding contracts if the payment will be done before in advance.
4th Cesme Marina
Campaign 2017:
10% discount to Transocean members. And in addition to this, 5% discount to boat owners who refer their friend or friends to Cesme Marina.
5th Teos Marina (Sigacik)
Campaign 2017:
- 5% advance payment discount from your annual mooring fee if contract payment in full 15 days prior to the beginning date of annual mooring contract
- 5% discount on moorings to Cruising Association, Kreuzer Abteilung, Trans-Ocean, Swedish Cruising Association memberships.
- 30 days mooring period to annual mooring contract for free.
- For annual mooring contract(s) in the past, double the value of years contracted as a discount rate. (For example: if 5 years of annual contracts prior to this one: a loyalty discount of 5 years X 2% = 10%) additionally.
- X% discounted price would be Euros (5% advance payment + x% loyalty discount) and contract may start any time in 2017.
6th Setur Kusadasi Marina
Campaign 2017:
- During summer season our new lift out campaign with 30% discount up to 15 days hardstanding for our annual contracted yachtsmen. The 30% discount covers lifting-launching & pressure wash.
- For annual contracted yachtsmen with 50% discount on daily and monthly moorings in all other Setur Marinas from Istanbul to Antalya; a total of 11 marinas in the chain. The most attractive detail is 30 days of this duration spent in other Setur Marinas will be added to next annual contract as a bonus.
- Until 31.05.2017 as Setur Kusadasi Marina we offer 20% discount and free hardstanding to short term mooring contracts up to 7 months for new coming boats.
- Until 31.03.2017 we offer 10% discount for all mooring renewals in condition of completing total payment in advance.
7th Port Iassos Marina (Güllükgolf)
40% discount for yearly contract until April 2018.
8th Güllük Marina (Güllükgolf)
30% discount for yearly contract until April 2018.
9th D-Marina Turgutreis
- 5% discount to the members of Cruising Association, Trans Ocean and Kreuzer-Abteilung Memberships for all mooring periods and all sized Yachts.
- 40% to annual mooring contract owners for moorings up to 4 months in our other Marinas (3 Marinas in Croatia, 4 in Greece, 1 in Montenegro and 3 in Turkey) and discounted lift-launch&dry parkings.
- 40% discount to all sized yacht's mooring contracts between 01.10.2017-30.04.2018 to give the opportunity of being safe in winter time. This mooring period must be 90 days minimum and 211 days maximum between these dates to get the discount.
10th Milta Bodrum Marina
- 30% between 01.11.2016 till 30. 04.2017
11th Setur Ören Marina (Gökovagolf)
- 50% discount for daily berthing price
- 37% discount for 30 days berthing price
- 55% discount for winter berthing price between 01. October and 31. May
12th Setur Netsel Marina (Marmaris)
Campaigns for all boat owners for limited time period:
- 5% + 30 days = annual mooring campaign to boat owners for annual mooring
contracts 5% discounts and +30 days free (the annual contact will be occured for
395 days with using 365 unit prices). This campaign started on 15.06.2016,
it will be expired on 14.06.2017
- 15% = additional discount campaign to boat owners 15% additional discount
rate for mooring contracts. The time period is not important to have this rate.
Important point: We can combine two different campaigns if all circumtances are
supported by boat owners. Even if boat owners' contract will not expired yet,
they can utilize from additional discount campaign with prepayment method.
They can pay next year / period contracts with discounted fees. If the boat
owners have already utilized from "Annual Mooring Campaign" before, they
can not utilize again. This campaign will be expired on 30.04.2017
13th D-Marina (Göcek)
- 5% discount to the members of Cruising Association, Trans Ocean and Kreuzer-Abteilung Memberships for all mooring periods and all sized Yachts.

15th Setur Kas Marina
Campaign Conditions: 25% additional free stay during year 2017. For every 4 units stay we will add 1 unıt stay for free (stay four & get one extra free!)
- The campaign program is valid between 1st January 2017 and 31st December 2017
- The campaign program covers actual and paid contracts starting from min. 180 days up to max 730 days on condition that the contract dates are taking place within the above mentioned campaign period only. More details on request.
16th Setur Antalya Marina
Setur Antalya Marina has reduced (mooring and dry berthing) prices by 15% in 2017. Besides Antalya Marina has discounts up to 30% for wet and dry wintering.
Additionally Setur Marina Chain introduces unique advantageous to yearly mooring contracts holders. Yearly contract holders are eligible to a 50% discount for moorings (up to 1 month) in their transient stop-overs to other Setur Marinas.
