Music, sea and Mediterranean dream destinations: The successful "Songs 'n' Sail" format is being launched in the Mediterranean for the first time - with pop star Max Giesinger, intimate concerts and a sailing route to the region's most beautiful islands. From 22 August to 1 September 2026, the ten-day sailing trip on the "Sea Cloud Spirit" combines live music with a route to the "Big Five" of the western Mediterranean. The highlight is an unplugged concert by singer Max Giesinger on the sun deck of the Hamburg-based shipping company's newest ship.

The route of the musical sailing trip leads from Palma de Mallorca via Ibiza, Menorca, Sardinia and Corsica to Olbia. The three-masted full-rigged ship is the third and newest ship of the Hamburg shipping company and offers space for a maximum of 136 guests. The host and presenter of the cruise is music and cruise expert Uwe Bahn, who presented the "Night of the Proms" for twenty years. Previously, the music cruises took place in other regions. Now "Songs 'n' Sail" is coming to the Mediterranean for the first time.

Music on board the "Sea Cloud Spirit"

The cruise centres on an exclusive unplugged concert by Max Giesinger. The German pop singer, known for hits such as "80 Millionen" and "Wenn sie tanzt", will perform in an intimate atmosphere on the sun deck - accompanied by his long-time guitarist Steffen Graef. In addition to the concert, guests can also look forward to personal insights: In conversations with presenter Uwe Bahn, Giesinger talks about his musical development, formative songs and the stories behind his successes.

But not only fans of Max Giesinger will get their money's worth. The musical programme is wide-ranging: singer-songwriter Marcus Zimmermann accompanies the entire journey. He has performed on stage as a keyboardist and singer with Nick Carter, Dante Thomas and Herbert Grönemeyer. The TV show "Let the Music Play" made him known to a wider audience. Zimmermann plays cover versions and his own songs. The Menorcan duo Bolérame performs in Mahón on Menorca. Maria Camps and Pere Arguimbau play Spanish bolero sounds in front of the harbour backdrop. There will also be culinary specialities from the region.

Uwe Bahn hosts the musical sundowner sessions on deck. He takes the guests on a journey through songs from the 70s and 80s. He explains the background to the creation of well-known titles. The programme also includes modern songwriting classics. An open-air DJ night and a farewell concert round off the trip.

Route to the "Big Five" of the Mediterranean

The musical cruise with the "Sea Cloud Spirit" starts in Palma de Mallorca. The first overnight stop is Ibiza. Here, guests have time to stroll through the old town or visit the island's clubs. On Menorca, the three-master sails into the natural harbour of Mahón. The Balearic island offers rugged coastlines and wide beaches. Here, too, the ship stays overnight. The sails are set between the islands. Guests experience the Mediterranean in the calm rhythm of the three-master. On Sardinia, the three-master heads for two harbours. Alghero is on the west coast, Porto Cervo on the Costa Smeralda. Porto Cervo is considered the meeting point of the international jet set. The route continues along the white cliffs of Corsica to Ajaccio. The journey ends in Olbia in Sardinia.

Luxury yacht with a private yacht atmosphere

The "Sea Cloud Spirit" has been in service since 2021 and combines traditional sailing with modern comfort. The three-master has four decks with a wide range of facilities for passengers: Main Deck, Promenade Deck, Lido Deck as well as Captain's Deck and Sun Deck. The 69 guest cabins are spread over three decks. On the promenade deck, in addition to the reception and the elegant restaurant with a 270-degree view over the stern, there are 25 suites with private balconies. One deck below, on the main deck, there is an infirmary, a boutique and the wellness and spa area including a steam bath, sauna, hairdressing salon and relaxation area. A bathing platform can also be folded down on the starboard side, from which water sports activities are possible.
