From next year, The Moorings, the world's leading yacht charter company, will be expanding its portfolio of cruising grounds. A fleet of sailing and motor catamarans for six to eleven people will be available in La Paz, Mexico. These yachts have been specially designed for The Moorings and built by the award-winning Leopard Catamarans shipyard. Bookings for the 2025 season will be available shortly.

The Gulf of California is a dream destination for boating holidaymakers: secluded islands against the fascinating backdrop of desert-like landscapes. At anchor and on land, a range of activities await, from snorkelling and diving to hiking.

Explore the "aquarium of the world" with and without a skipper with The Moorings

The protected area off the Baja California peninsula offers easy navigation all year round and ideal conditions in calm waters. Less experienced charter customers still have the option of booking a skipper.

La Paz, north of Cabo San Lucas, is considered the gateway to the Sea of Cortez. The area is a guarantee for close-to-nature experiences on a comfortable sailing yacht. A world of contrasts awaits charter customers at the southern tip of the Mexican Baja peninsula, with rugged slopes and dense cactus forests. They are accompanied by dolphins, sea lions, whale sharks, manta rays and sea turtles. Jacques Cousteau was already fascinated by the kaleidoscope of sea creatures and called the region the "aquarium of the world". Thanks to sandy anchorages for flexible stops, boat holidaymakers can explore it directly from their yacht. Until the booking options are activated, interested parties can register on the website for more information: www.moorings.com/de.

Jill Grigoleit was born in Hanover in 1985. An early childhood memory is the large collection of YACHT and SURF magazines from her sailing and surfing enthusiast father. However, growing up in a small Swabian village on the Neckar, she had less to do with water sports in her childhood, apart from a few trips to the Baltic Sea with her family. After studying journalism in Bremen and Hanover, she went into television for a few years. Through a few lucky coincidences, she ended up on the water in 2011 and then returned to the written word professionally. For over ten years, she lived with her family on a houseboat in their own harbor south of Hamburg and wrote a book about houseboat building and life with children on the water. Since 2020, she has mainly been writing travel reports and features about people who live and work on and near the water for BOOTE. She has been a permanent member of the Delius Klasing water sports editorial team since January 2024.
