Clear sailing waters: the Aquaduct Veluwemeer near Harderwijk demonstrates the importance of water sports in the Netherlands.
De Zeven Provinciën are the seven historic provinces of the Netherlands. In each of them there are places where history is still present. Part 6: Harderwijk

If you sail along the Randmeren, you must keep to the fairway. Besides the buoyed channel, there is usually less than 50 centimetres of water depth available. In Harderwijk itself, however, the newly constructed pedestrian harbours south of the Dolphinarium have sufficient draught.

The city itself welcomes you with an imposing city wall and gate. Through this you reach the Vischmarkt. A square where you can certainly eat delicious fish in one of the many restaurants, but where no fish has been traded for a long time.

Three Michelin stars

Speaking of culinary delights: Harderwijk does this exceptionally well. Within a few metres of the aforementioned Vischmarkt, you will find three Michelin stars and another mention in this "bible" of culinary delights: t'Nonnetje, Basiliek and Ratatouille await guests who have made a reservation and have the necessary change.

If the weather is bad, the Dolphinarium can help. The animals can be observed here. Whether you want to do this is a matter of taste, but the organisers state that species conservation is at the top of their list of priorities.

Location at the edge berms

Nautically, Harderwijk is no challenge either: it can be reached via the Randmeren, from Amsterdam up to a clearance height of 12.50 metres, from the east the length of the mast is irrelevant.
