Reviernews-Denmark 2026, Part 3: In the Great Belt northwards across the Kattegat to the Limfjord. There are also new developments in some harbours in the western part of the country.

Juelsminde

Marina Juelsminde on the coast of Jutland is planning to shine with three completed construction projects at the start of the season. Firstly, a redesigned harbour area will be opened, which will also include a new playground as a recreational area, including a typical Danish "crab arena".

Previously, this area was characterised by cars and boat trailers parked all over the place. As part of the restructuring, the slipway will also be relocated to the eastern harbour, where the renovated and enlarged breakwater will provide better protection from swell.

Kolby Kås

Kolby Kås on the island of Samsø is undergoing a transformation from a busy ferry harbour to a quiet port of call for pleasure craft. As the ferries have left the harbour permanently, the southern basin is to be optimally protected against swell in westerly winds with additional breakwaters. In addition, 22 new box moorings with electricity and water are being built on the western pier for permanent and guest berths.

Nørresundby

In Nørresundby on the northern shore of the Limfjord opposite Aalborg, the small marina Mellem Broerne is being developed into a yacht harbour for ships of all sizes. In the Limfjord, opposite Aalborg, a new port of call for cruising yachts and large traditional vessels is being created.

This will be made possible by a new floating bridge extending deeper into the fjord, which will ensure a water depth of seven metres on the outside and also serve as a breakwater. The work should be completed by June 2026, in time for the Tall Ships Race, the regatta for traditional tall ships.

Kerteminde

In the marina in Kerteminde in the north-east of Funen on the Great Belt, which was named Denmark's "Harbour of the Year" in 2025, three old jetties are being replaced with extended floating jetties. This will create more space for larger ships.

For families, mooring is also worthwhile in rainy weather, as a 700 square metre indoor playground opens in spring. Several restaurants in and around the harbour provide relief in the galley.
