SeaHelp is continuing to expand its fleet: The nautical breakdown service purchased three new boats last year. Three more units are planned for 2026. The company is investing more than 350,000 euros in total. At the same time, SeaHelp is planning to open two additional bases on the Croatian coast, as Managing Director Wolfgang Dauser reports.
SeaHelp has ordered three additional boats for the coming season. The first boat was transferred from the Baltic Sea to Croatia in October 2025. The Grömitz base received a smaller replacement boat for it. The second boat is an inflatable boat produced in China. It will be equipped with a 150 hp Yamaha outboard motor. Delivery is scheduled for January 2026. The third boat is a second-hand Technomarin 9.80. The boat is already in Croatia and is currently undergoing a general overhaul.
The three operational boats already delivered in 2025 are from the Tunisian manufacturer RS Marine. These are RIBs. These rigid-hull inflatable boats combine a rigid hull with inflatable tubes on the sides. The design makes them more stable and seaworthy than pure inflatable boats. The Evok models are between 6.5 and 8.7 metres long. They are powered by outboard motors with up to two 250 hp engines. The boats therefore reach higher speeds than comparable inflatable boats and can also be used in rough seas.
The nautical breakdown service is also investing in the existing emergency boats. The Axopar 28 Cabin on the island of Solta receives two new Yamaha outboards, each with 150 hp. The Ribline 8.0 in Tribunj will receive the same motorisation. Five other locations will be equipped with new navigation electronics. The bases affected are Punat, Solta, Pula, Porec and Tribunj. The measures are intended to ensure the technical availability of the fleet and keep its operational capability up to date.
SeaHelp will open two more bases on the Croatian coast in the 2026 season: "One on the islands of Silba, Olib, Skarda, Ist or Molat and another in the area of Sali (Dugi Otok), the island of Zut or Zirje," says the SeaHelp Managing Director. The new bases are intended to shorten the journey times to accident victims in these areas. At the same time, the existing bases in Losinj, Zadar and Tribunj will be relieved.
