It is the dream of many: to sail across the Atlantic once in a lifetime. Hundreds of crews therefore set off from the Canary Islands or Cape Verde every year from late autumn onwards for a trip across the pond to the Caribbean. Quite a few of them as part of the organised Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC), which is now divided into three different fleets.
The participants appreciate the togetherness and the joint preparation for the adventure, even if it means starting on a date set well in advance and spending part of the on-board cash for the participation fee for the rally.
To this end, the ARC organiser, the British company World Cruising Club, is offering support in preparing for the blue water cruise, among other things. This year, for example, this includes a half-day online seminar on Zoom, which will take place on the first two Saturdays in April, 6 and 13 April, between 2pm and 7pm.
Partners of the organiser and experts on various blue water topics will then provide tips for the ocean crossing. Participation is free for WCC rally participants, all others pay 45 euros for the two dates.
