Netherlands: Sailing in the province of Zeeland
Sailing in a tidal area, sheltered inland sea or open North Sea - Zeeland has something to offer for every crew and every requirement. Download the report in PDF format

The strength of the neighbouring area to the west is undoubtedly its versatility. In the shortest possible distance, less than ten nautical miles, you can sail from protected inland areas without level changes such as the Veerse Meer into the Oosterschelde, which is still regulated at first, or then into the open Westerschelde or North Sea. In between are beautiful old towns where there is always something going on in summer, for example during the Mussel Days in Yerseke or in Veere.

The level of difficulty of the sailing area can be adjusted at any time. If the wind starts to blow strongly from the west, the crews can hide further inland; if it becomes gentle, you can venture out into the North Sea, possibly to gain your first tidal experience.

With super summers like 2018 and this year, the weather is no longer an exclusion criterion. Reason enough to explore Zeeland with your own boat or charter yacht.

In YACHT 17/2019, we tell you about a round trip through Zeeland and give lots of valuable tips for shore leave and the best moorings. The magazine is available in the DK-Shop, or you can download the travelogue directly via the link below.
