Joachim Schult died on 8 November in his home town of Tespe an der Elbe. Since the 1960s, the author, who also worked as a lecturer at universities and as editor-in-chief of various sailing magazines, has published more than 50 books with Delius Klasing Verlag. Schult was 87 years old.
Schult's bestsellers include the book "Segler-Lexikon", which has been published in 13 editions to date.
Schult, who has held various maritime positions in his career, has published more than 50 books with Delius Klasing Verlag over the past decades, some of which have been translated into eight languages. Currently, four books by the author are still available in the programme of Europe's largest water sports publisher. The total print run of Schult's books is over 500,000 copies.
"We mourn the loss of an author whose extensive specialist knowledge and expertise had a decisive influence on our publishing house's maritime book programme," says publisher Konrad Delius.
