The modern man in his early 40s, played by actor Ivan Dentler, sets off on his yacht "Kate Moss" in search of adventure and meaning in life. While other men of his generation are cycling up Mount Everest, hiking through the Gobi desert or searching for meaning in the Amazon rainforest, the protagonist decides to circumnavigate the world as a single-handed sailor.
On the way, he dances with invisible companions, talks to his boat, to the sea - and to himself. And so the production subliminally raises very central questions: Is this journey the adventure he longs for or merely an escape from his midlife crisis? And what does the freedom gained actually mean if no one is watching? How do you live with yourself without losing your sense of humour? An evening of theatre that should leave plenty of room for your own thoughts.
The Theatre "The comedians" at Wilhelminenstraße 43 in Kiel stands for lively, creative productions with a flair for topical material and special audience events. Experienced actor Ivan Dentler plays the leading role and, as the theatre makers promise, gives the one-handed sailor a unique blend of charisma and subtle humour.
Regular tickets cost 25 euros, discounted tickets 22 euros. Pupils, students, trainees and holders of the Kiel Card pay only 8 euros.
