The small cruiser Bente 24 gets a bigger sister. Typical of the brand, the new Bente 28 also has the eye-catching dodger above the companionway. The new carbon fibre hull from designer Hans Genthe, which is being built at Aeolos Composites in Dubai, is designed to be light, fast and sporty. The uncompromising racer is set to shake up the ORC and IRC regatta scene. Ready to sail, the boat weighs in at just 1.55 tonnes, with a ballast content in the deep T-keel of more than 50 percent (800 kg). With a lifting keel and retractable rudder, the Aeolos P 30 should also be easy to trailer. The price is very favourable, but freight costs are higher. One hull, two boats: Atelier Interface in La Rochelle offers two different boat concepts based on a small plywood folding frame. The Aloes 25 is a small, sporty day racer with a slip cabin. Under the name Flow 25 (picture), the same hull is also offered as a cruising small cruiser with an interior suitable for touring. The shipyard Marine Composites in Brittany has presented the Bihan 6.50, a highly acclaimed small cruiser (test in YACHT 23/ 2016). Now an even smaller version is following, albeit without interior fittings. The smart fun-maker also comes with a gaff rig made of carbon fibre and an extendable bow trunk for a gennaker. The swivelling keel with 185 kilograms of ballast can be raised with a bulkhead buoy.
