Italian designer Michele Molino has designed the new daysailer from Latitude 46/Tofinou, taking over the legacy of Michel Joubert (Joubert/Nivelt), who was previously responsible for all the designs in the independent Tofinou line. With the new design, Molino and the Latitude 46 shipyard aim to retain the typical look of the Tofinou brand with its strong character, while at the same time adding a whole host of new and innovative design features to the concept. This task is certainly not easy, but in the case of the Tofinou 9.7 it has been skilfully implemented.
The first ship of the new type has already left production in La Rochelle and has been handed over to its new and happy owner. The YACHT editorial team was given the opportunity to thoroughly test the new Tofinou 9.7 in the bay of La Baule on the French west coast just a few days later. The report will appear in one of the next issues. Until then, here are the first photos from the test as a gallery.
In the meantime, the shipyard has also finalised the price list. The standard version of the Tofinou 9.7 will cost 130,900 euros ex shipyard, including 19 per cent VAT, but without sails. Surcharges are also required for a Torqeedo electric motor, for the carbon fibre mast as on the test boat and for a lifting keel (telescopic system) or a swing keel option.
