Barbecuing on board or on the beach - hardly any barbecue is as perfect for this as SKOTTI. The world's first collapsible gas barbecue, developed in Germany by outdoor enthusiast Christan Battel, weighs just 3 kg and takes up hardly any space. Folded up and stowed in its sturdy tarpaulin bag, it is about the size of a thick newspaper. It consists of 9 robust stainless steel parts that can be put together in a few simple steps. The required propane-isobutane cartridges with screw thread are available from outdoor retailers worldwide.
Gas is the easiest and most environmentally friendly way to use the SKOTTI. It heats up immediately, but cools down quickly after grilling and can be stowed away again. Its grill grid offers space for about 4 steaks or 8 sausages. With the exception of the burner tube and gas hose, all parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher. As water is often not within reach, it is easier and even more thorough to clean the trays with oven cleaner or ordinary washing-up liquid and a little steel wool.
If you don't have a gas cartridge to hand, SKOTTI can also be heated with coal or its body can be used as a small fire bowl.
